Qualifications and Study Experience

Colin studied obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Law, Politics and History from the Dorset Institute of Higher Education (now Bournemouth University). He then obtained a LLM in EEC Law, Conflict of Law and Public International Law from Hull University. He completed his Legal Practice Course at De Montford University in Leicester.

 

Work Experience

Colin began his legal career at Talbots Solicitors in Rugby where he undertook general litigation work including debt recovery and repossessions, contractual disputes and personal injury work, predominantly road traffic accidents and employer liability claims. He then worked for Harvey Ingram solicitors in Leicester where he undertook similar work to that whilst employed by Talbots. I was then employed at Tollers LLP in Northampton where is caseload was entirely personal injury. At Tollers he started as a Litigation Executive, then became an Assistant Solicitor, then Associate and finally a Salaried Partner. On leaving Tollers he then worked at Minster Law Limited in their London office as a Senior Solicitor in the Complex Claims Team. He then worked at Trinity Law in Birmingham as a Senior Solicitor prior to its amalgamation with Waldrons Solicitors.

For over 25 years, Colin has concentrated only on personal injury cases and has dealt with a wide range of cases. These include road traffic accidents which have included clients who have sustained a variety of injuries including road traffic accidents that have tragically led to death. He has dealt with a variety of employer and public liability claims.  Colin also handles claims involving product liability and persons injured by animals. Memorable cases include: obtaining compensation for a client that was bitten by a cat; obtaining compensation for a client who lost an eye caused by a defective dog harness; obtaining compensation for an accidental fatal shooting; obtaining compensation for the family of a prisoner who committed suicide whilst in prison and  compensation for a client who was injured whilst flying a glider.

Colin qualified as a solicitor in 2002 and he is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales.

Outside of work Colin enjoys keep fit, boxing, football, the theatre and the cinema.
