Waldrons recently took part in the ‘Time for a Cuppa’ event to join in with the celebrations to mark 10 years of this fantastic campaign and to support our chosen charity of the year, DementiaUK.
All our staff got involved and helped put this event together by either bringing in baked goodies or shop bought goods to sell on the day. From the impressive spread that was on show, it was clear that the bakers put in their best efforts and produced some impressive items! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day whilst raising vital funds for a worthy cause.
Waldrons raised a total of £100.00, which all goes towards recruiting specialist nurses in Dementia Care, known as ‘Admiral Nurses’. Named after the family that founded the charity in loving memory of their father Joseph Levy, who was known as ‘Admiral Joe’ because of his love for sailing. There are currently 273 Admiral Nurses in the UK, supporting families affected by dementia. The charity aims to increase the number of Admiral Nurses to parts of the country that are still in need of these specialist nurses.
As well as hosting the ‘Time for a Cuppa’ event, Waldrons Junior Lawyers also host dress down days on the last Friday of every month and have staff tuck shops (which are very popular!). All proceeds goes towards fundraising for Dementia UK, which is our chosen charity of the year.
