Quite a lot of employers wait until an employee has finished their probationary period before issuing them with their contracts of employment – even this can be too late.
The current rule is that an employee who has been employed for at least a month must be provided with a written statement of their terms within 2 months of having started work.
This changes from 6th April this year – the new rule is that all new employees and workers have the right to a written statement of their terms and conditions of employment on their first day of employment. There is also additional information that will have to be provided. To ensure that your contracts will be up to date contact us for a free health check.
