Waldrons are proud to have recently joined the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity Will Scheme and Dawn Cash and I were lucky enough to have been invited to their annual update. You can see from our smiles in the photo that we were very excited to be able look round one of the helicopters and speak to its incredible staff, who do such amazing jobs.
We learnt many things about the charity that day but the most surprising thing for me was that it receives NO funding whatsoever from the NHS or the Government. Each year it costs between £13-14 million to maintain their fleet of helicopters and critical care cars and this is raised entirely from support and generosity of local people and businesses.
A large proportion of this funding comes from those who choose to leave gifts in their Wills to the charity and Waldrons are lucky enough to be able to support those that choose to do this.
A gift as little as £288 can cover the costs of one of the fleet of critical cars going on a mission and £511 will provide a clinician’s flight suit.
Many of our clients already support the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and with our offices being located in Brierley Hill, Kingswinford, Dudley, Walsall, Worcester and Cheltenham it seemed like natural fit that we get involved with the charity which covers the West Midlands, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Worcestershire.
The free will writing service offered by the charity is open to anyone over the age of 50 and all you need to do is contact us to arrange an appointment and let us know that you are looking to use the scheme.
We will then take you through the process, offering advice on all aspects of preparing your Will including how any legacy would affect your loved ones and the effect it could have upon the tax position of your estate. We even go beyond your Will and can advise on other elements including Lasting Powers of Attorney and protection against care home fees. We even include free storage of your Wills and free reviews ever 5 years.
So if you want to get your Will ‘off the ground’ and help the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity keep ‘aloft’ (puns intended) please get in touch for further details.
