Acrimonious divorces are sometimes inevitable, and by their nature can affect not only the parties, but extended family and friends causing hurt and rifts that can last for many years.
An extreme example of the effects on wider family in a divorce was clear in a High Court ruling this week. Tatiana Akhmedova claimed that her son had known about and actively assisted his billionaire father, Farkhad Akhmedov, in schemes to prevent Ms Akhmedova from accessing her £453 million divorce award made in 2017 which was said to be one of the biggest awards made by a UK Court.
Whilst this is far from a usual type of Divorce case, it does highlight the bitterness and behaviour that can, in extreme cases, result in protracted legal proceedings, and the destruction this causes to families.
