Waldrons Solicitors Achieves Disability Confident Committed Status

Monday 20th January 2025

Waldrons Solicitors are proud to announce that we have been officially recognised as a Disability Confident Committed employer by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

The Disability Confident initiative, created by the DWP, is a movement of change designed to encourage employers to think differently about disability and to take action to improve the recruitment, retention and development of disabled individuals.

As a Disability Confident Committed employer, Waldrons Solicitors has demonstrated our commitment to:

  • Inclusive and accessible recruitment practices
  • Communicating job opportunities effectively
  • Offering interviews to disabled individuals where they meet the minimum criteria for a role
  • Providing reasonable adjustments to support applicants and employees
  • Supporting the professional development of existing employees.

In addition to these commitments, Waldrons is actively exploring ways to engage with activities such as work experience, apprenticeships, internships and sector-based work academy placements to offer practical opportunities to disabled individuals within our community.

Joseph Norton, Managing Director at Waldrons Solicitors, commented:
“At Waldrons, we are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive workplace where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Achieving Disability Confident Committed status is a significant milestone in our journey, and we are proud to stand alongside other organisations leading the way in championing diversity and inclusion. We believe that embracing a diverse workforce not only strengthens our business but also enriches our community. We look forward to continuing our work to ensure that our practices support the principles of the Disability Confident scheme.”
